Paul Timothy Shannon, Sr.

Paul T. Shannon, Sr., 64, of Macon, Geogia, entered into rest of the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Thursday morning, April 4, 2024, after a brief illness.  Memorial services will be held at Lizella Baptist Church, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 2:00PM.

Mr. Shannon was self-employed as the owner and operator of Shannon Enterprises. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When he was 10 years old, his family moved to Mt. Vernon, Illinois where he grew up and attended Mt. Vernon Township High School.  Mr. Shannon also studied a little Engineering at Rend Lake College.

Paul's hobbies included gemstones and fishing, as well as cooking for his family during the holidays. He was very much a gourmet cook.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and their cats. Paul loved his family and his Lord. He also enjoyed listening to Andrea Bocelli.

Mr. Shannon was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Frederick Shannon; brothers, John Shannon, Peter Shannon, and Andrew Shannon; and sisters Barbra Shannon and Linda Shannon. Mr. Shannon is survived by his loving wife of 37 and a half years, Alma Shannon; son, Paul T. Shannon Jr.; mother, Ida Shannon of Minnesota; brothers, Phillip Shannon of New York, David Shannon (Janet) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Joel Shannon of Byron, Georgia; one sister, Lydia Coldwell of Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
