Aaron Steve Daniel Gay

Aaron Steve Daniel Gay, 87, of Macon, GA, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 30, 2022.  He has gone home to be with the Lord and his love of his life. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Sardis Heard Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service. The eldest son of the late William Allen and Isla Theo Hutchinson Gay, Aaron was born in Nocatee, Florida.  He married Shirley Jane Culver of Arcadia, Florida, January 24, 1959.  They were married until her death in July 2008.  He was a devout Christian and loved the Lord.  He never met anyone he didn't know, and if he didn’t know you, he did when he left you.  Aaron always quoted John 3:16 to everyone before he left.  Aaron would like to inform you that he is no longer above snakes.  If you knew him, you know he would tell you that any day he was above the snakes was a good day. Aaron was retired from Wells Fargo, having worked as a messenger guard and coin room operator.

Aaron was preceded in death by brothers, Allen P. Gay, Autridge J. Gay, Marklin C. Gay, and Don W. Gay; and he leaves behind one sister, Zona Gay Meeks of Kentucky; and one half-sister, Violet Hamilton of Georgia.

Aaron leaves behind his daughter, Becky Gay Vastakis; only granddaughter, Alisa Vastakis Musgrove (James Musgrove III); only great grandson and the apple of his eye, Aaron Musgrove all of Macon; and honorary daughter, Lynn Wooten Fountain of Appling, Georgia.  Aaron leaves behind many friends and other family and he sends his love to all.
