Betsy A. Woods, 87, Macon, Georgia passed away on June 14, 2026, at home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Glen Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family requests potted plants in honor of Mrs. Betsy Woods or contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice, 5400 Riverside Suite 200, Macon, Georgia, 31210.

Betsy was born on August 10, 1938, in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late Posey Jacob and stepmother Maggie (Wells) Sink.

She was a great mom who worked as a telephone operator and secretary, while being a military wife for 22 years. After that she retired from the Cochran Field Post Office for 33 years, where she was known as the “Post Office Lady”.

Betsy enjoyed crafting, reading, and being active in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s school functions.

Betsy is preceded in death by her loving husband Frank Allen Woods, parents Posey Jacob and Maggie Sink, brother Posey Jacob “Junior” Sink Jr.

Survivors include Children Linda (Daniel) Melton of Macon, Connie (Ron) Lanham of Hoschton, grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Ogden, Samantha (Ben) Glavic, great grandchildren Andrew Melton, Rebecca Ogden, Benjamin Glavic, Sarah Beth Glavic, Alex Ogden and sister Margaret Palmer of Arizona, brothers William Sink of Texas, Tommy Sink of Virginia, David Sink of Virginia. She also loved and cherished all of her many nieces and nephews.
