Bill Umstead

Bill Umstead, 67, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022.  He was a loving husband of forty-eight years to Ms. Charlene Umstead. He is also survived by his daughters, Christina “Chrissy” (Lee) Laneback and Katherine (Joshua Tucker) Umstead; his son, Brian (Cson Johnson) Umstead; his grandson, Greyson Tucker; his furbabies, Maggie, Stella, Lexi, Cassidy, and Buckshot; his brother, Patrick (Michelle) Shea from Webster, NY; his sister, Evelyn DeMarco from Chuluota, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was born on September 22, 1955, to Marguerite Ingraham Umstead and Claude Umstead.  His first job was at Borden Milk Delivery where he delivered at Disney World.  He was very handy around the house, and he loved to help people.  He also used his handyman skills and mechanic knowledge to rebuild a 1974 Gran Torino.

Bill was an amazing father and loving husband.  He was a soccer referee for many years and was a past president of HGSOA.  He never met a stranger and he loved camping. He also enjoyed his annual family trips to Daytona Beach.  He will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to your favorite animal rescue.
