Delores (Collins) Hodges

May 21, 1933 — November 20, 2020

Macon, GA

Delores Hodges passed away on Friday November 20, 2020, in Forsyth, Georgia. She was a lifelong Macon resident and one of eight children of the late Adolph Dean Collins Sr. and Willie Ann (Burden) Collins.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Victoria Frances Willingham, James Thomas Collins, Adolph Dean Collins Jr., Bernard Arthell Collins, George Payden Collins, Lillian Joyce Cannon, and Sylvia Ann Cone.

A graduate of Crandall Business School, Delores began working for what ultimately became Internal Medicine Associates in Macon and continued in her role until retirement. Her compassion and kindness toward patients was always noted and often played a role in calming nerves and providing encouragement when people most needed it.

One of the best attributes person can demonstrate is having a servant’s heart toward others. Delores did this readily without question or complaint — from helping out when her own parents became ill to caring for siblings as they struggled with terminal diagnoses.

Delores is survived by her son, Kenneth Bryant Hodges, along with his companion Linda McMillan, and her niece Tina Tarbox (Adam & Mei-Ling) who was fortunate to have Delores in her life as a second mother.
