Donald Emory Rogers

January 22, 1933 — January 5, 2026

Donald Emory Rogers, a proud United States Navy veteran and devoted family man, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of service, strength, and love. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 5 ½ years during the Korean War conflict, as a radio operator and a decoder, a chapter of his life marked by courage, sacrifice, and unwavering patriotism. Following his military service, he proudly served as a civil servant with the United States government on the F-15 fighter jet program at its inception and later in material support. Upon his retirement, he joined his family at Rogers Accounting Service and was the friendly face everyone saw when entering the office.

Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Sara Plunkett Rogers, whose partnership and love were the foundation of his life, and by his youngest daughter, Misty Lachelle Rogers, whom he carried forever in his heart.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Smith (Martin), Donald was a proud grandfather to Ryan Smith (Selma), and to Marc Randall Smith (Christy). His joy was multiplied in his great-granddaughter, Elena Smith, who brought light and laughter to his later years, and he looked forward to the birth of his newest great-grandson, Callum.

Donald will be remembered for his quiet strength, deep sense of duty, and steadfast devotion to his family. His life reflected honor, resilience, and love—values he passed down through generations. His service to his country and his dedication to those he loved will never be forgotten.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
