Donald Charles Sheffield Sr.

Donald Charles Sheffield, Sr., 90, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022.  A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Christ Church with Reverend Cynthia Knapp officiating.  A reception will follow after the service.

Don was born on May 17, 1931, in Miami, Florida, and grew up in Arlington, Virginia.  He graduated from Vanderbilt University and received his degree in Civil Engineering.  He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army.  He was President of Mathis-Akins Concrete Block Company and maintained his professional engineering license throughout his career. Don dedicated his life to both the young and older population of Macon by serving on The Macon Industrial Home Board, The Salvation Army, The Macon Rescue Mission, and was a longtime member of The Macon Rotary Club.

He was an active member of Christ Church.

Mr. Sheffield is survived by his son, Chuck Sheffield of Macon; his granddaughter, Alyssa Walsh (Jackson) of Alpharetta; one great-grandchild, Luna Walsh; and his sister, Dorothy Louise Staby of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Reese Tinker Sheffield; his daughter, Tina Kuncaitis; his parents, Charles and Eleanor Sheffield; and his brother William R. Sheffield.
