Douglas S. Helms, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 55. The memorial to celebrate his life is being hosted by Todd and Holly Helms at their residence, 5496 Janeru Cir Macon, GA 31216 on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 from 2:00pm-4:00pm.

Born on August 12, 1970, in Albany, Georgia, Doug was a talented master carpenter who took great pride in his craft. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing, and was happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren and family. Known for his sense of humor and his unmistakably weird laugh, Doug brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He was an amazing cook and known for his upside-down smiley face. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Douglas is survived by his daughters: Laura Helms, Amber Cooper (Coop), and Heather Brown; grandchildren: Alaina Helms, Braxton Helms, JR Helms, Jackson Helms, Haley Escobar, Fernando Escabar, Veronica Escobar, and Blake Brown; mother, Gale Helms; brothers, Todd Helms (Holly), Joe Helms, and Shane Helms; sister, Michelle Crowder; step-mom, Pam Wilson Helms; ex-wife and friend, Laurie Crosby; niece and nephew, Kaylee Williams (Shun) and Jarredd Helms; and many other nieces and nephews.

Douglas was preceded by his father, Robert James Helms and son, Coty Helms.
