Helen Elizabeth Nipper Rogers

June 15, 1927 — March 9, 2023

Helen Elizabeth Nipper Rogers, age 95, a resident of Elberta, Alabama, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 9, 2023.  A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon, Georgia. She was born in Columbus, Georgia on June 15, 1927.  She married and raised her children in Macon, Georgia before moving to Baldwin County, Alabama in 1979.  She and her husband Charlie lived their dream in Orange Beach, AL and Elberta, AL. Living on the water was their dream and they enjoyed the tidal creek, watching the fish jump and the dolphins swim by. A very loving mother and wife, she often opened her heart and home to many family members and friends.  A constant dedicated church worker, teacher and helper who taught all three of her children the value of church and community.  She was a member of Grace Fellowship PCA Church, Foley and she enjoyed all the members and visiting snowbirds. Helen worked as a secretary in the Macon, GA Employment Office after World War II, a substitute teacher and helper in schools and several other jobs serving the public.  She pursued several educational courses, some of which were, computer science, art, cake decorating and landscaping.  In her earlier years, Helen loved to be out and busy and in her later years, she couldn’t understand why she wasn’t 19 any longer.  Her selfless love, guidance and sense of humor will be greatly missed, and she will be fondly remembered by many that were blessed to have known her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Matthew Rogers; parents, Jimmy J. and Cassie E. Nipper, Macon GA; brother, Joseph “Theron” (Joan) Nipper, Harrison, GA; sister, Jimmie “Jean” (John) Nipper Mills; Macon, GA; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Richardson Rogers. Helen is survived by her daughter, Susan Elizabeth (William) Young; sons, Charlie Marshal “Mark” Rogers, and Jimmy Maxwell (Pamela) Rogers.  She was also blessed with 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Sardis-Heard Funeral Home, 6125 Houston Road, Macon, Georgia, 31216, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
