Joseph Edward Rosenhagen, 84, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on February 6, 2026. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Oakview Clubhouse.
Son of the late Theodore Rosenhagen and Rose Schuster Rosenhagen, Joe was born in Bogota, New Jersey on September 28, 1941. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson College before going on to proudly serve his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to public service as Fire Chief for Bogota, New Jersey. After moving to Florida, he later served for 20 years as a tax collector for Broward County, Florida.
After retirement, Joe and his wife settled in Macon, Georgia, where he remained active and worked at Oakview Golf Course for 15 years. Known for his strong work ethic and lifelong commitment to service, Joe touched many lives throughout his career.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Georgia Holland Rosenhagen of Macon; children: Deborah Rosenhagen Mancino (Michael) of Enfield, Connecticut, Karen Rosenhagen McIntyre of Carlyle, Illinois, Jerry Mealer of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Brandi Goodwin (David) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Benjamin Mealer (Maya) of Brooklyn, New York; grandchildren: Carly (Clinton), Chance, Aiden, and Ella Jane; great grandchildren, Callen and one on the way; and furbabies, Sadie and Sarah.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Rosenhagen and Teddy Rosenhagen.
