Katherine Hope Ragan

Katherine “Hope” Taylor Ragan, born on February 18, 1965, in Fort Valley, GA, passed away on January 16, 2025, in Macon, GA. Hope was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ken Ragan, whom she married in 1997, and her daughter, Ashley Taylor. Hope took great pride in her grandchildren, Sabrina and Alexis (Tristan), as well as her great-granddaughter, Stevie Kate. She was also deeply loved by her mother, Bonnie Taylor, and her siblings, Jim Buck (Tabby), Dianne, and Eddie (Gladys), along with numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Lester Taylor, her brother, Rodney Taylor, and many aunts and uncles.

She is joined by her Pop, Ronnie Taylor.

Hope had a passion for cooking shows, shopping, and enjoying afternoon rides with Ken. She found joy in watching true crime series and had a particular fondness for Mexican food. A devout Christian, she was a lifelong member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where she demonstrated her giving heart and loving spirit.

Her family remembers her for her unwavering devotion and pride in their accomplishments, particularly her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Hope often drew strength from her favorite verse, Ephesians 6:10-18, which reflected her faith and resilience. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.  A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
