Kenneth Lee Bish, Sr.

Kenneth Lee Bish, Sr., 79, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024.  The family will greet friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, 5774 School Road, Macon, Georgia, with Reverend Phil Skelton officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Lawrence Drive Baptist Church or to the Gideons International in honor of Mr. Kenneth Lee Bish, Sr.

Kenneth was born on March 2, 1945, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, to the late Daniel Walter Sr. and Violet Ann Bish.  He was a longtime member and deacon of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church in Macon.  He was employed by Pactiv, where he worked for over thirty years.  Kenneth labored with the Gideons International for the past ten years, sharing the Gospel by distributing Bibles to those who would otherwise not have one.  He also volunteered for Rebuilding Macon for five years.  Kenneth loved watching old western movies, Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and the Atlanta Braves. He loved to fish and be outdoors, where he admired God’s beautiful creation.  He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Myrtis Bish;  his children, Kenneth “Lee” Bish, Jr. of Macon, Walter Bish (Elaine) of Gray, Georgia; and James Bish (Hope) of Warner Robins, Georgia; his grandchildren, Cindy Templeton (Jerome) of Byron, Kristy Laux (Mike) of Forsyth, Dane Yoshida of Los Angeles, California; Sam Bish (Destiny Edwards), Sophie Bish, Anna Bish, and Corley Bish; his great-grandchildren, JoAnn Templeton, Haven Ragan, Bradley Ragan, Addisyn Ragan, Finley Vargo and Tommie James Bish; his brother, Daniel “Danny” Walter Bish, Jr. (Janice); his sister, Margaret Starnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, David and Jamie Bish.
