Leslie Heather Powers Miller

Leslie Heather Powers Miller, 53, of Fort Valley, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024.  A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM, on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home, with the Reverend Eddie Wilcox officiating.  Family will greet friends for a time of visitation after the service. Please feel free to wear casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Heather Miller to Richard’s Kids, Inc., P.O. Box 68, Clayton, Georgia 30525.

Heather was born on August 25, 1970, in Macon, Georgia, to Richard, Sr. And Sarah E. Powers.

Heather would light up any room she walked into, and her smile would capture anyone’s heart. Those are the reasons she never met a stranger, and they would always become her friends. Making someone smile or laugh was one of her most valued qualities. She could make someone smile or laugh whether they wanted to or not. She always saw the best in everyone no matter the circumstances.

One of the greatest joys in her life was her son, Cole. She loved being a mother to him, and she never, ever missed a game or any other activity that Cole was involved in. Heather was indeed Cole’s biggest cheerleader. After Cole graduated and moved to college, Heather never skipped a beat on being there for someone else. She took care of her parents almost every day and always made sure they had what they needed. She was always willing to put others before herself, especially those who were closest to her.

Heather is survived by her husband, Danny Miller; her son whom she loved dearly, Cole Miller; her parents, Richard, Sr. And Sarah E. Powers of Warner Robins; her siblings, Richard Powers, Jr. (Tami) of Lillian, Alabama; Kim Powers of Warner Robins, and Josh Powers of Warner Robins; her aunt, Pamela Sanford of Macon; her father-in-law, Louis C. Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; and all her many, wonderful friends that brought joy to her life.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
