Linda "Gayle" Oberhausen

Ms. Linda Gayle Oberhausen, 51, of Macon, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024.  A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Baptist Church (7219 GA Hwy 87, Juliette, GA 31046), Monday, February 19, 2024 at 3:00pm, with pastors Jake Walls and Joe Hester officiating.  Inurnment at Glen Haven Cemetery will be at a later date.

Born and raised in Macon, Gayle graduated from Southeast High School in 1990.   Following graduation, Gayle worked at a local daycare center and in the deli department of a Macon Piggly Wiggly.    When her aging parents became sick and had the need for full time in -home care, Gayle left her job and cared for them full time.  She lovingly served them as caregiver for ten years.

Gayle and her husband John were married on April 12, 2014 and enjoyed ten years together in a loving and happy marriage. Most of all, Gayle loved simply spending time with John, whether it was watching a movie, going out to eat, fishing, or simply enjoying their dogs together. Gayle was creative and enjoyed crochet and singing.   She will be remembered as a faithful Christian woman who loved God, her church, and her family above all else.

Gayle is preceded in death by her parents, James and Paulette Meeks.  She is survived by her husband, John Oberhausen; brother, Harvey Meeks (Carol) of Gray; niece Megan Meeks (Austin), nephew Eric Stevens (Erica), great-nieces Olivia and Emmalyn Stevens and Ivey and Oakley Adams, aunt Brenda Bridgers Scarborough; and cousins; Chris Howard and Lyn Watson.
