Loretta M. Bridgeman

Loretta M. Bridgeman, 81, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Loretta was born in Water Valley, Mississippi on July 20, 1942, to the late Alvin and Lillian Moore of Phenix City, Alabama.  She graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama, before she pursued her calling in the field of nursing. She was a retired LPN, where she worked for HCA Hospital and Dr. Clyde Marlow.

Loretta was a member of the First Baptist Church of Christ of Macon. Her life was a testament to her values of kindness, generosity, and devotion to others. Her presence, an uplifting force within her community, will be profoundly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Loretta will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Bridgeman; son, Jay Oliver, Jr. (Suzanne) of Macon; stepchildren: Robin Duffey of Macon, Sheila Wilford (Steve) of Macon, Christopher Earl Bridgeman (Andrea) of Pike County, Georgia, Tracy Archer of Macon, and Richard Earl Bridgeman (Michelle) of Macon; granddaughter, Chelsie Oliver-Visage (Eric Visage); ten step grandchildren: Holly Grow (James), Bo Carpenter (Brittany), Apryl Lamb, Raymond Nipper (Karen), Brianna Marie Twilley (Josh), Kimberly Jade Lane (Caimen), Kristyn Williams, Jacob Earl Mikus (Savannah), Julia Bridgeman, and Jonah Bridgeman;  great grandchildren: Nicholas Visage, Isabella Visage, and Laine Visage; a host of step great grandchildren; and her furbaby, Prince.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was tragically preceded in death by her daughter, Carla Oliver; step grandson, Dustyn James Archer: and brother, Roger Moore
