Lori Grissom Hyatt-Grimsley

Lori Grissom Hyatt-Grimsley, 57, of Macon, passed away on October 8, 2026. A celebration of life is being held at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2026, beginning at 6:00 PM. Her family kindly requests that attendees dress in their UGA best, honoring Lori with her beloved red and black. A private inurnment is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Macon-Bibb County Animal Welfare in Lori’s honor. Born December 12, 1968, Lori was born and raised in Macon. She graduated from Windsor Academy in 1986. Lori was an avid University of Georgia fan and loved cheering on her Dawgs with family. Her presence will be sorely missed during games. Lori enjoyed spending time at the beach, specifically Tybee Island. She also loved music, Elvis being a favorite, and any animal she met.

Lori was preceded in death by her stepmother, Kim Grissom as well as Loyce “Nana” Adams and Donna “Maw Maw” Hyatt. She is survived by her husband, Alex Grimsley; her children, Austin (Ansley) Hyatt, Tyler (Shelby) Grimsley, and Bethany (Miguel) Grimsley; her mother, Lynda Grissom; and her father, Olin Grissom. Additionally, her brother, Carl Grissom; and sisters, Abby (Andy) Drawhorn, Haley (Sam) Lilley, and Katie (Matt) Ousley. Lori was the best Gammie to Presleigh Grimsley, Colbie Hyatt, EllieMae Wilcox, River Grimsley, Loralai Wilcox, and Casey Hyatt; and a favorite to her numerous nieces and nephews, many pets, and any other person or animal lucky enough to have been known by her. Lori’s memory will always be cherished.
