Lucile Barron McCook

Lucile Barron McCook, 97, of Macon, died Friday, January 16, 2026. A private graveside service will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. McCook was born on September 18, 1928, in Chester, Georgia to the late Clarence and Magnolia Barron. She was a member of Mikado Baptist Church for 40 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir and participated actively in her Sunday School class and the Glowing Years Program through which she enjoyed many lifelong friendships. One of her favorite activities was attending her great grandchildren’s birthday parties.

Mrs. McCook is survived by her children, Lurie McCook Hall (Tim) of Juliette, and Gregory Burke McCook of Milledgeville; her brother, Gerald Barron (Reva); her grandchildren, Kellie Avera, Kerry Hall, and Colton McCook; her great grandchildren, Garrison Avera, McCuen Avera, Logan Avera, and Laira Avera. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Eddie Burk McCook Jr.; her brother Harold Barron (Gwen) and her sister Merle Wallace (Roy); and her great grandson, Connor Avera.
