Mrs. Marjorie Grantham Stevens, 96, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, 5774 School Road, Macon, Georgia, with Reverend Phil Skelton officiating. A private burial will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Marjorie was born on September 21, 1929, in Vienna, Georgia, to the late Mr. Charles and Mrs. Dorris Grantham. She was a godly woman with strength and determination. Mrs. Marjorie was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman because of her love and care for her family and her church family. She was so proud of her daughter and her grandchildren for all of their accomplishments.
Mrs. Marjorie was one of the founding members of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church. She also retired from the United States Civil Service where she was the Chief of the Military Pay Department at Robins Air Force Base. In her retirement years, she enjoyed being a homemaker, spending time with her family and working in her garden. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Dr. Joan Perlow (Dr. David) of Atlanta; her granddaughter, Dr. Dara Matthew of Atlanta; and her grandson, Professor Seth Perlow of Washington D.C. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Stevens.
