Mary T. Haywood

Mary T. Haywood, 90, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

Mary was born on June 14, 1935, in London, England. As a child, she was evacuated from London during WWII to the countryside and lived at a convent during the war years. After the war, she met her future husband James Haywood who was stationed in London with the US Air Force.

She and her husband lived at Otis Air Force Base in Massachusetts before moving to Georgia. She moved with her family to Dublin, Georgia in the late 1960s.

Mary was a gifted artist and taught many students how to paint at her home studio. She took great pride in restoring old paintings that had been damaged. Mary also loved music and enjoyed singing with friends. She also expressed her creativity through a variety of arts and crafts, including knitting, crocheting, and sewing.

Mary moved to Macon in 2016, and lived at John Wesley Villas. She will be missed by her family and the many new friends she made in her senior living community.

Mary is survived by her sons, Kevin B. Haywood (Felicia) of Macon and Ian Haywood of Richmond, Kentucky; and her two grandchildren. She is the widow of James Wesley Haywood.
