Mary Beth Rowland, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at her home in Perry, Georgia. She was 59 years old. Born on October 4, 1966, in Fort Valley, Georgia, Mary Beth faced a diagnosis of cancer with the same quiet strength that defined her life, ultimately finding peace surrounded by the family she adored.
Mary Beth was a woman of clever wit and undeniable charm. She possessed a rare and magnetic ability to make close friends instantly, turning acquaintances into confidants with a simple conversation. Her social circle was wide, yet she made everyone feel uniquely special. She found great joy in her community as an active member of the Ladies of Legacy Park, where her presence will be deeply missed.
An adventurer at heart, Mary Beth had a passion for seeing the world. She made it a goal to travel to as many states as she could, finding particular solace and wonder in the country's National Parks. She never returned home empty-handed, as she was an avid collector of refrigerator magnets from every location she visited. When she wasn't exploring with her dear friends or family, she enjoyed the quiet focus of crocheting or assembling intricate miniature wooden kits.
However, Mary Beth's greatest legacy lies in her devotion to her family. She was a fierce advocate and a tender caregiver, particularly during the skillful years she dedicated to nursing her son, Ethan, through the challenges of Spina Bifida. Her love was practical, constant, and unconditional.
Mary Beth is survived by her husband, Kenneth Rowland; her two sons, Andrew Rowland (Amanda) and Ethan Rowland; and her two grandchildren, Cian and Chloe. She also leaves behind her brother, Johnny Estes; and her best friend, Andrea Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ray Dean Estes.
A woman of Christian faith, Mary Beth lived with a humble spirit. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal funeral service or visitation. She believed that the best way to honor a life is for friends to visit and enjoy each other's company. She often lived by the sentiment, “Just be yourself and your personality will shine through,” a lesson her loved ones will carry forward in her memory.
