Mary L. Wood

Mary L. Wood, 80, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.  The family will greet friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.

Mary was born in Macon, Georgia, on January 1, 1943, to the Late James C. Prince and Louise Burke Prince.  She graduated from McEvoy High School in 1961.  Mary married and started her own family.  Soon afterwards, she began her work career at Macy’s Department Store where she worked for twenty years. Mary loved gardening and working in her yard. She also loved her family, and she truly loved doting over her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons, Dale Rowe (Yolanda) and Jeffrey Rowe (Holly), both of Macon; her grandchildren, Jonathon Rowe (Kayla) of Cochran, Georgia; Laurel Rowe (Josh Sims) of Fort Valley, Georgia; her great-grandchildren, Greyson Rowe, Carter Rowe, and Mollie Rowe; her two brothers, Lewis Prince (Linda) of Louisville, Kentucky; and Joe Prince (Debbie) of Macon, Georgia; her numerous nieces and nephews; and her Hospice Chaplain.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Hugh Miller Rowe; her daughter, Paris Anne Rowe; her second husband, Robert E. Wood; her siblings, Valerie Law, Jim Prince, CB Prince, and Robert Prince.
