Phyllis Ann (Harlow) Pearce

Phyllis Ann Pearce, 80, beloved Mother, Sister, and Grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on December 27, 2020. She entered this world on February 16, 1940 in Bluffton, Ohio, born to the late Maurice and Zella Harlow.

After a few years, they moved to Michigan and settled in Jackson where Phyllis graduated from high school.

Despite being the only deaf student, she graduated from Jackson High School in 1960. She did this without a sign language interpreter and depended solely on lip reading.

She married the late William Pearce (Bill) in May 1976, and they settled into Lansing, Michigan, where they raised Phyllis' two daughters from a previous marriage until Bill's death in 1985.

After Bill's death, Phyllis moved to Lakeland, Florida, to be near her parents who lived there in the winter. Phyllis later moved together with her parents to Hendersonville, North Carolina to be closer to family there.

Phyllis helped to care for her parents in their later years until their deaths a few years apart from each other.

Phyllis then moved to Macon, Georgia in 2011 where she resided with her oldest daughter, her husband and their children.

Phyllis enjoyed drawing and painting, reading, attending church and being with her family. She had a smile that radiated from within and spread out to those around her.

She was strong in her faith and wasn't afraid to share the love of Christ with others.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are a daughter Jeannie Long (Richard) of Macon, Georgia; a brother, Don Harlow of Saginaw, Michigan; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and another great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor Caddick.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 12:00PM, at Parkway Assembly of God, 5191 Eisenhower Parkway, Macon, Georgia 31206.
