Raymond Astumian, 78, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home, with Pastor Billy Flowers officiating. The family will greet friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon, Georgia.
Raymond was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on February 17, 1945, to the late Phillip Najeb Astumian, Sr. and Florence DeMars Astumian. He married Nellie Francis and went to work for Macon Water Authority, where he retired as manager after thirty-seven years.
Raymond enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Nellie Astumian; his son, Tony Astumian and his daughter, Tina Turner (Mike); his two grandchildren, Michael Turner (Amanda) and Heather Black (Ben); his five great-grandchildren, Ollie, Bash, Max, Evie, and Sky; his sister, Patricia Astumian Clark; his brother, Michael Anthony Astumian; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Phyllis Ann Astumian and his brother, Phillip Najeb Astumian, Jr.
