Robert J. “Bob” Farnsworth entered his heavenly home on November 23, 2025. Born on August 26, 1929, in Kiefer Oklahoma, Bob lived a long and faithful life of devotion to God, enduring love for his family, and steadfast commitment to service. He had a disciplined and structured lifestyle carved from being a product of the great depression and dustbowl.
After graduating high school, Bob proudly joined the United States Air Force, serving his country for seven years. While stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he met a beautiful WAF from Georgia, Phillis Dowling. They married shortly afterwards and shared 46 wonderful years of marriage before her passing. Their marriage was blessed with three children, eight grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.
In time, the Lord, again, brought companionship into Bob’s life when he met Danease F. Sullivan. They were married 22 years until her death. Bob cherished both of these treasured unions & remained deeply grateful for the love God placed in his life.
Bob is survived by his three children: Sharon Nickels (Bob) and Catharine DeLoach (Harold), both of Macon, GA; and Bob Farnsworth (Debbie) of Gray, GA. He is also survived by his eight Grandchildren: Bobby Nickels (Katie) of Macon, GA; Laura Nickels Van Wingerden (Luke) of Anderson, SC; Carrie Deloach Morton (Jeremy) of Canton, GA; Sarah Deloach Wheat (Andrew); Angela Deloach both of Macon, GA; Will Deloach (Libby) of Cochran, GA; Georgia Farnsworth Ethridge (David) and Robby Farnsworth (Therese), both of Macon, GA.
A devoted Christian, Bob served faithfully for many years as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher and on many committees at Bethesda Baptist Church. He also spent 25 years coaching the women’s softball team at Bethesda, pouring his heart into encouraging others and building lifelong relationships. In later years, he continued his service at Avondale Baptist Church where he remained an active and dedicated member.
Bob enjoyed a long and successful career. For 22 years, he was a partner with Register Rubber & Equipment Co., Macon, GA. After selling, he was not content with a life of leisure, so he began a new career at Georgia Power Company, where he later retired. He approached every task with integrity, diligence, and a quiet confidence that earned the respect of all who worked with him.
He loved sports-especially baseball- and found great satisfaction in a simple, organized and disciplined life. Bob took special pride in caring for his yard, keeping it beautifully manicured. One of his greatest delights in recent years was meeting every Friday morning for coffee with his three children & granddaughter Sarah-a cherished tradition that created precious memories for all of them.
Sardis-Heard Funeral Home will oversee arrangements. A funeral service honoring Bob’s life will be held at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church on Friday, November 28. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00am, with the service beginning at 11:00am. Immediately following the service, burial will take place at Glen Haven Memorial Park on Houston Rd. Reverend Jeremy Morton, Pastor of First Baptist Church Woodstock, will officiate.
Robert J. “Bob” Farnsworth lived a life rooted in faith, humility, integrity, and unwavering love. His gentle spirit, steadfast devotion and Christlike example will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
