Roy Lee Bass, 84, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The family will greet friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, December 6, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.
Roy was born on December 15, 1940, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Thomas Lee and Florence Nightingale Mauldin Bass. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Panama Canal, Special Services. Roy had a long career as a finance manager for numerous automobile dealerships and Camping World. After retirement, he ran his own landscaping business. Roy loved fishing and was a Master Gardener with the Bibb County Extension Office. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Roy is survived by his wife of fifty years, Janet Johnson Bass; his children, Tammy Peterman (Johnny, Deceased) of Macon, Bobby Bass of Macon, Tommy Bass (Tara) of Forsyth, Mickey Bass (Rochell) of Lizella, Tony Bass (Bri) of Tampa, Florida, and Carlee Farmer (Daniel) of Bolingbroke; his seven grandchildren, Travis Patat, Morgan Patat, Hunter Bass, Paige Bass, Carter Farmer, Christian Farmer, and Brooks Bass; his four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Wayne Bass (Pearl). He is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Ann Vanhook (Norman), and Larry Bass.
