Stanley Howard Harrison

Stanley Howard Harrison, 67, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.

Son of the late James Wesley Harrison and Winnie Herrington Harrison, Stanley was born in Coolidge, Georgia on February 8, 1957. With a steady hand and a proud heart, he worked as a gas pipeline welder for 48 years.  Outside of work, he found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was dancing, cooking for his cherished family, or spending afternoons working in the garden alongside his brother, James. A marksman at heart, Stanley enjoyed shooting practice, a pastime shared with his son, Nick.

Thanksgiving was Stanley's favorite holiday, reflecting his love for cooking big meals and spending time with his family.

Stanley will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara Gale Harrison of Macon; daughter, Amy Michelle Harper of Macon; son, Nicholas Cole Fisher (Jamie Lynne) of Macon; grandchildren, Autumn Gillis, Bailey Harden, and Kaden Hayes; brothers, James Harrison (Debra) and Fred Harrison (Nelva), both of Jones County; sister, Debra Harrison; sisters-in-law: Sandy Harrison of Jones County, Doris Harrison, and Kathy Gratop of Aiken, South Carolina; and brothers-in-law, Larry Edwards (Sharon) of Lake Sinclair, Georgia, and Bobby Edwards of Macon and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his grandson, Chase Allen Gillis; siblings: Roy and Ellen Harrison, Carl and Carol Harrison, Ben Harrison, Cecil Harrison, Betty and Raymond Smith, Margie and Calvin Avant, and Raymond Harrison; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bettye Dean Edwards and Frank Edwards.
