Stephen Mccullough Pickett, Sr.

Stephen McCullough Pickett, Sr., 65, of Byron, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Sardis-Heard Barn. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.

Mr. Pickett worked as a supervisor for Borden Dairy. In his younger years, he proudly served his country in the United Stated Navy on the USS Midway. He was of the Methodist faith, he believed in his lord. His hobbies included riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, working on MG cars, and upholstery. He was well known for pinching pennies.

Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Dianne Pickett, of Byron, Georgia; sons, Stephen McCullough Pickett, Jr. (Stephanie), of Blackshear, Georgia, Johnny Ervin Arnold, Jr., of Byron, Georgia and James Poole (Jessica), of Waycross, Georgia; daughters, Stephanie Elizabeth Proulx (Gerald), of Waycross, Georgia, Christy Michelle Rogers (Shawn), of Macon, Georgia, Lenora Anne Greene, of Bonaire, Georgia and Jessica Elliotte (Simon), of England; grandchildren, Christin Greene, McKayla Anne Greene, Chelley Dianne Torbush, Madison Pickett, Cameron Woodell, and Kyran Gambit Proulx, Chrisyln Batts, Christy Harper, Breanna Rogers, Jonathan Rogers, Tina Marie McElhenney, Jenna Nicole Arnold, Brittany, Austin, Raylan, and Colton Poole, and Sienna Elliotte; and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Cox (Marcus), of Thomaston, Georgia, Shirley McClain (Raymond), of Newnan, Georgia, and Kathy Wilkerson; brother, Roger Dale Galloway; and sister-in-law, Deborah Anne DeLong.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Kenneth Pickett and Laura Ellen McCullough Pickett.
