Sue Lanthrip Abbott

Sue Lanthrip Abbott, 74, of Macon, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.  Family will greet friends on Friday evening, January 21, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sardis Heard.

Sue retired from the Bibb County Board of Education with 27 years of service where she served as a home school facilitator in the No Child Left Behind program. Her last school she served was Rutland Middle School. She was a "Nana" to many children. Her passion was taking care of her family. Sue was preceded in death by first husband, Emmett Cleve Lanthrip; her second husband, Edward "Ted" Abbott; her daughter, Sheila Lanthrip; and her sister, Cora Darlene Johnson.

Sue is survived her daughter, Tina Lanthrip-Upshaw (John) of Warner Robins; son, Randall "Randy" Lanthrip (Karen) of Macon; seven grandchildren, Brittany Lanthrip (Austin) of Macon, Michael Wimberly of Macon, Brandi Lanthrip (Amber Bishop-Lanthrip) of Macon, John Wayne Upshaw, Jr. of Warner Robins, Cleveland "Snappy" Lanthrip (Ashley) of Macon, Joshua Lanthrip (Cortney) of Warner Robins, and Sara Rosser (Travis) of Perry, Georgia; seventeen great grandchildren; her brother, Billy Johnson of Clayton, Georgia; and her niece, Heather Sparwath of Cumming, Georgia.

Sardis-Heard Funerals and Cremation Center, 6025 Houston Road, Macon, GA 31216,  has charge of arrangements.
