Thomas Melvin Thompson, Sr.

Thomas Melvin Thompson Sr., 73, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022.  Family will greet friends for a time of visitation on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.

Mr. Thompson was born in McRae, Georgia, and was the son of the late Henry Jack Thompson and Mary Mildred “Big Mama” Hunter. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas M. “TJ” Thompson, Jr.; sisters, Marti Robinson and Debra Ann Mathews; and brother Johnny Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a proud United States Army Veteran and was based in Germany from 1969 to 1972. He received a National Defense Service Medal while in service.  He was a self-employed contractor.  He loved to fish and was a member of the Moose Club in Warner Robins.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his son, Robert Troy Thompson of Warner Robins; three grandchildren, Layla Shay Thompson, Leila Thompson, and Brandon Kachevas; and two sisters, Jackie Barnett (Jim Cheshire) of Warner Robins, and Betty Waldroup (James) of Eatonton.
