Vernon Carl Allen

Vernon Allen, 68, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.  Family will greet friends one hour prior to services.  Burial will immediately follow the service at Serenity Gardens, 8570 Eisenhower Parkway, Macon, Georgia, 31052.

Vernon was an active member of the Mason and Shriner’s of Lizella, Georgia.  He caught a world record Flying Gurnard, offshore, south of Mexico. He was a dedicated employee of YKK, where he worked for twenty-six years.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Gail Allen; his daughters, Stephenie Lynn (Jeff) Whitley and Virginia (Donnie) Fortson, both of Carrollton, Georgia; his stepchildren, Ray Mitchell, Kendra (Chris) Bryant, and Rhonda (Tommy) Cooper; his eleven grandchildren; and his brothers, Ira W. "Bill" Allen (Dee) of New Mexico and James Allen of South Carolina.
