Walter Benton "Bubba" Vining, Jr.

Walter Benton “Bubba” Vining, Jr., 52, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Sardis Heard Funeral Home. The family will greet friends for a time of visitation following the service. Walter will be privately laid to rest at Andersonville National Cemetery.

Walter was born on June 30, 1973, in Thomaston, Georgia to Sylvia Helms and Benton Vining. He was a graduate of Statesboro High School. Following high school, he served four years in the United States Navy where he was stationed in Japan for most of his tour. Walter loved to spend time at Lake Jackson, and he loved grilling, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Walter is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Kaylee Vining; his children, Jackson Vining of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Katelyn Vining of Macon, Georgia; his father, Benton Vining (Janice) of Warner Robins, Georgia; his mother, Sylvia Helms of Thomaston, Georgia; his siblings, Kim Boyd, Dawn Phillips, Todd Bartlett, Deana Weaver (Scott), and Andy Helms; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
