William “Darrell” Tetterton

William “Darrell” Tetterton, 76, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Son of the late William Warren Tetterton and Annie Brinn Tetterton, Darrell was born in Plymouth, North Carolina on April 26, 1948. He graduated from Tarboro High School and went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Darrell built a fulfilling career as a Transport driver, dedicating 30 years to the profession he loved. Darrell's love for Alabama, North Carolina, and UGA athletic teams was only matched by his fondness for outdoor activities like camping and fishing, which he often enjoyed in the company of his family.

He was a faithful member of Covenant Life Cathedral for 42 years, and actively participated in the audio/video and church ministry.

Darrell will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Jeri Tetterton of Macon; son, William “Mark” Tetterton (Valencia) of Macon; grandchildren: TJ Tetterton (Tianna), Christian “Gage” Tetterton, Caleb Tetterton, Makayla Tetterton, and Ryan Tetterton; great grandchildren: Khloe, Khyan, Khlia, Kanan, Tru, and June; siblings: Carol Carroll (Dean) of Jacksonville, Florida, Michael Tetterton (Rita) of North Carolina, David Tetterton (Peggy) of Utah, and Jimmy Tetterton (Geisla) of Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his daughter, Misty Tetterton Albert; granddaughter, Chloe; and brother, Charles Tetterton.
