Ashley NeCole (Grooms) Icard

Ashley NeCole (Grooms) Icard, 33, of Macon, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 29, 2022.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home, with the Reverend Billy Flowers officiating.  In honor of Ashley, the family is asking that you wear blue and please come in your everyday attire.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Diabetes Association in Ashley Icard’s name.

Ashley graced this world with her presence on July 16, 1989, in Bartow, Florida.  From a small child, Ashley loved the outdoors.  She gravitated towards the beauty of nature which led to her love for photography.  She captured many of life’s beautiful moments, not only in pictures, but also in the hearts of her family and friends.

She loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors. She loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking for her family.  She baked her special cheesecake for special occasions such as her anniversary or her family’s birthdays.

Her favorite place to visit was Tybee Island, where her childhood sweetheart, Kalen Icard, proposed to her.  They married and spent fifteen wonderful years together.

Ashley and Kalen were blessed with two beautiful children, Dalton and Olivia.  Anyone who knew Ashley, knew she loved her children with all her heart and wanted the very best for them. She was a stay-at-home mom who homeschooled and made the home a place where her family knew they were loved.  She never met a stranger, and her presence would always light up the room. Her smiles and laughter were contagious.  To know Ashley was to love her.

Ashley is survived by her husband, Kalen (Jack as she called him); her two children, Dalton (son) and Olivia “Poot” (daughter).  She is the daughter of Pamela H. Smith (Ken Davis), Jerry Smith (Joan), Stepfather Robert Smith Jr.; her maternal Grandmother Cynthia Huggins; her brothers, Dallas Smith (Ann), Hunter Smith, Matt Smith, Andrew Davis; her sisters, Brandi Smith, Kayla Smith and Ashley Davis.  Her in-laws are Mother and Father Ward and Loris Icard; brothers, Kory and Kody Icard; Grandmother Sharon Veal (Meana); Aunt Gennie and Uncle Alan Gaskill; her best friend, Whitney Hulett; her precious furbabies, Mufasa, Winn Dixie, and Roxie; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, family and friends; and her birth father, Davey E. Grooms. 

She is preceded in death by her maternal Grandfather Charles (Chuck) Huggins Sr., Marvin and Helen Grooms, Bobby R. Icard and Jeanette W. Icard, (In-Law) Charles (Pa) Veal, Wade and Juanita Jackson.
