Obituary

Debra "Debbie" Kathleen (Schwab) Swantner, 67, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday August 14, 2022, at Turning Point at Mabel White Baptist Church, with Reverend Lee Sheppard officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to All About Animals, PO Box 4331, Macon, Georgia, 31208, in honor of Debbie.

Debbie was born in Youngstown, Ohio.  She lived in Macon for over 30 years.  She was a part of the Harley Davidson Club and thoroughly enjoyed riding her Harley.  She bred competition Chinese Shar Pei dogs and English Bulldogs before moving to Georgia. In her recent years she enjoyed her beloved Chihuahua, Chloe.  She rescued cats and kittens and had a general passion for animals of all kinds.

Debbie had a career in the food business for many years.  She worked with Cracker Barrel in Macon, managed Olive Garden, and managed the cafeteria of GE Capital.  She also worked with H&R Block.

Debbie was a free spirit and loved music, going to the beach, and had a natural talent for growing plants.  She enjoyed cooking.  She had a beautiful smile and a witty sense of humor that will be greatly missed.  She had a special gift of being a great listener and friend to people.  She was a fun big sister who always loved to celebrate holidays and make them special.

Debbie is survived by her daughter Amy (Bunofsky) Pompeii and two grandchildren Gabrielle and Geno of Hillard, Ohio; her mother, Frances Bogdan of Macon; her sisters Terry Bogdan of Macon, Patricia Bogdan Williams of Youngstown, Ohio, and Kali Bogdan of Macon; her nephew and best friend Shod Bogdan; and her nieces and nephews Katie Whitehead Hunt (Ryan), Chad Whitehead (Ashley), Taylor Perdue Howard (Jacob), John Bogdan, and Brandon Bogdan.  She is preceded in death by her father Harold Meinzen Schwab.
