Doris Davis Obituary

Doris Davis of Macon, Georgia, passed away in her home on Tuesday, March 12. She was born on February 8, 1934, to Blanche and Cecil Stark in Clendenin, West Virginia.  She married Paul David Davis on January 17, 1961.  Doris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved cooking for her family and taking care of their home.  She was a member of Mikado Baptist Church in Macon.  She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul Davis Sr., her sons, Paul and wife, Glenda of Corsicana, Texas; and John and wife Becky of Macon; four grandchildren, Benjamin Davis and wife Maria, Brooke Davis Butler and husband Elijah, Brandon Davis and Brynn Davis; and one great-grandson, Josiah Davis.  She is also survived by her sister, Willa Covert of Scott Depot, West Virginia; and her half-brother, Jim Dissen; and half-sister, Shirley Dissen.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Harris, June Beverly, and Margie Richardson.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 4:00 PM, at Sardis Heard Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Ed Chambless of Mikado Baptist Church in Macon, and Pastor Jay Reed of Peachtree Road Baptist Church in Lawrenceville.
