Emma Lane Moseley, 16, of Gray, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2021. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home located at 6125 Houston Road, Macon, Georgia. Emma was a bright and shining light in the world. Her smile was just as contagious as her vivacious spirit. She was a fighter and a determined young lady. Her faith in God was a great source of strength and comfort to her and her family. She was faithful to her church, Centerville United Methodist Church, and was very involved in the youth group there. Emma was lovingly known as “Memaw”.
Emma loved to hunt and be outdoors. She also loved to bake and make arts and crafts. Anyone who knew Emma could say, “To know her is to love her.”
Emma participated in the “Hunting for the Cure” and “Outdoor Dream Foundation.” She was also the poster child for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Emma is survived by her loving mother, April Westmoreland and stepfather, James “Diddy” Westmoreland of Gray; her father, Shannon Moseley of Macon; three sisters, Alexis Parks of Shelby, North Carolina, Alaina Parks of Fort Mill, South Carolina and Brielle Westmoreland of Warner Robins; one brother, Walker Westmoreland of Warner Robins; grandparents, Karen and James Avant of Byron, and Lane and Linda Moseley of Macon; aunts and uncles, Lance and Amy Haynes of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Amy Isaacs of Warner Robins, and Jeffrey Avant of Byron; numerous cousins; and her best friend, Ashleigh Nesmith, also known as “Sunshine” of Gray, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Barbara “Big Nanny” Green, her paternal great grandmothers, Gladys Humphries and Margerie Smith, and maternal great grandfather, Gerald Jackson.
The family wishes to say special thanks to the Air Force Reserve Command and to all of the nurses and doctors who took care of Emma.
