Frances loved her family dearly and never missed the chance to show it. Her eyes lit up a room and her laugh was infectious. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her “dishes” with family and friends. Christmas time was her favorite time of year. You would find her posting photos she had found for the holiday season that she loved on her social media all year long. She loved her dogs, Buddy and Lucy and her Guinea Pig, Oscar and her grand-dogs, Nugget and Chalupa. There are many things that could be said about her, but there are not enough words to describe how amazing and special she was to everyone who knew and loved her. Once you met her, you were instantly friends and she loved you deeply.
Survivors include her daughter, Leslie (Phillip) Rogers of Macon; grandchildren, Cody Elder of Lizella, Griffin Rogers (Mary Slaughter) and Owen Rogers of Macon, sisters, Doris Brooks, Mary Miller, Harriet (Kenny) Frenier, all of Colonial Heights, VA., Betty (Glenn) Buker of Coshocton, OH., Virginia (Larry) Conner of Dinwiddie, VA., and brother, George (Wanda) Miller of Colonial Heights, VA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 53 1/2 years, Joseph Benjemen Elder, Jr.; her parents, Hursey Newton Miller and Vergie Holcomb Miller; her son, Robert Forrest Elder, brother Buddy Miller, and sister, Ella McLean.
Sardis-Heard Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6125 Houston Road, Macon, GA 31216 has charge of the arrangements.
