George Neilson Obituary

George F. Neilson, Jr., 65, of Macon, passed away on January 19, 2021, at his residence after a long, extended illness with cancer.  He was born on January 25, 1955, in New York, New York, to the late George, Sr. and Eugenia Neilson.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 5:00-7:00PM at the residence, 165 Timber Ridge Drive, Macon, Georgia 31216.  Funeral services will be private.

George was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He worked at Brown and Williamson as a power house operator and was an avid New Orleans Saints and LSU football fan along with NASCAR.   His number one priority was his children, his grandchildren and Homer.

George is survived by his wife, Malessa Neilson of Macon; his sons, Travis (Brooke) Neilson and Bobby Burgamy; his grandchildren, Kaylynn, Allison, Braylen, and Hollis; one sister, Mary Kelley of Kenner, LA; mother-in-law; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made in his honor to the Navy-Marine Corp Relief Society, 875 N Randolph Street, Suite 225, Arlington VA 22203.
