Obituary

On Friday, June 23, 2023, Heaven gained another angel. Hilda Fay Tharpe was predeceased by her parents, Mavis and George Tharpe; her longtime friend, Shirley Parks; her brother, Robert Tharpe; and two nieces, Angela Fay and Mindy Sue. Hilda is survived by her brothers, Ray (Joy), George (Debra), and Timothy; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends too numerous to mention. She loved her family, and we loved her. We will carry her memory in our hearts until we meet again.

Ms. Tharpe was a resident of Crawford County. She resided at Warner Robins Rehabilitation for the past two years where she suffered fatal cardiac arrest. Staff members there will mourn her death. Hilda’s gentle, sweet spirit made her a favorite of many staff members. Hilda retired from Robins Air Force Base. She served her country as an aircraft electrician for many years. She was also a member of a local wood carving club.

Graveside services will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to All About Animals, 101 Riverside Drive, Macon, Georgia 31201.
