Hugh Thomas “Tom” Winslette, age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in Macon, Georgia. He was born January 18, 1955, in Eatonton, Georgia to Hugh and Eva Winslette. He was a graduate of Northside High School and grew up in Warner Robins. Tom lived a full life and treasured sharing his many passions with friends and family. Lover of music and a dedicated musician, he spent much of his time strumming on the guitar and recording various tunes with friends. Tom was a world traveler who had a deep love for the outdoors, and was pulled toward the water, fishing frequently and taking to the ocean as often as life allowed. Tom was also an avid gardener with a green thumb and enjoyed tending to his yard and flowerbeds. He was a proud veteran particularly proud of his service in the United States Air Force. The most meaningful role to him, though, was being the Proud Papa of his grandson, Jacob. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Orenstein Knowles (Jason), Julie Winslette Grindstaff (Jaime), and Emily Nicole Winslette and his grandson Jacob Orenstein, a brother, Wesley Winslette (Deidra), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
