John David Walker, 75, of Macon, Georgia, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home, with Reverend Chris Minton officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service for visitation. Burial will be held after services at the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Hope Ministry at Lizella Baptist, PO Box 979, Lizella, Georgia 31052, in honor of Mr. John David Walker. The family has kindly requested that no flowers be sent. Masks will be required at the service.
Mr. John graduated from Jackson High School in 1965. He proudly served in the Army National Guard. He also was a dedicated, forty-year employee as an IT Specialist/Electrician of The Georgia Power Company.
He was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and loved teaching Sunday School. He was also a faithful member of Lizella Baptist Church. He was known for his love of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves, assembling model cars, and his deep love for his grandchildren.
Mr. John is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Joy Grant Walker; his two sons, Casey Walker (Helen) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Jordan Walker (Crystal) of Macon; his grandchildren, Connor Pahl and Caitlin Walker; his sister, Sue Walker Polk (Charles) of Jackson, Georgia; and nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Fletcher and Virginia Rose Walker.
