John Rayford Varnadore, 71, of Macon, Georgia, passed away August 30, 2021. A graveside service is planned for 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon, Georgia. Family will greet friends Friday, September 3, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sardis-Heard Funerals and Cremation Center Barn. Contributions can be made to the America Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association in honor of Rayford Varnadore.
Rayford was an avid hunter and enjoyed nature. He loved everything about the outdoors which included collecting local arrowheads. He loved working on cars and enjoying the craftsmanship of all makes and models of cars. Rayford also enjoyed children believing he was Santa Claus year round. More than anything else, he enjoyed the family God had blessed him with.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Debbie; son, John Nicholas “Nick” Varnadore of Placerville, Colorado; sister, Kathy Simpson (Bill) of Franklin, Tennessee; and two grandchildren, Andrew Parker (Hunter) of Homer, Georgia and Chandler Parker of Marietta, Georgia. He is preceded in death by parents, John Lane and Willie Mae Varnadore, and his beloved daughter, Brandi Parker.
