Johnnie Outler Robertson

Johnnie Outler Robertson, 90, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023.  The family will greet friends for a time of visitation on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home. 

Johnnie was born in Macon in 1932 to the late John and Lena Outler.  She was married for 66 years to William (Bill) H. Robertson, Sr.  She raised five amazing children, was a beloved Girl Scout leader, and her biscuits and her fried chicken were legendary.  Johnnie maintained a lifelong love of learning and instilled this in her children.  She loved to read, visit art museums, and travel.  She was a talented artist and an accomplished gardener.  She had an outgoing personality–she never met a stranger and she welcomed everyone into her home. Johnnie worked in the education department at Mercer University, at Macon Feed and Seed, and later owned Trader Bill’s Knife Shop with her husband and son. She loved her family, especially the grandchildren, and will be missed dearly. 

Johnnie is survived by her daughters, Roxanne Parrow (Tim), Kathy Matthews (Tom), Anita Hall, Bill Robertson (Phyllis), and Nolan Reynolds (Brandon); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.  She is preceded in death by her husband, William Hartley Robertson, Sr.; her sister, Mary Turner, and her son-in-law, Robert Hall.
