Joseph Michael “Mike” Mazza, Jr., 64, of Macon, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 2, 2021. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 5, at Sardis Heard Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Victory Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia, with Pastor Kenny Hamm officiating the service.
Mike was an avid sports fan, and the Georgia Bulldogs, who are currently ranked #1, is his favorite team. He graduated and played football for Southwest Highschool. His love for sports carried over to his hometown where he coached and managed Little League for many years. Then, in his later years, he was the Vice-President of the Bloomfield Ballpark Little League.
He was a great Italian cook and loved to cook for his family. He was a loving husband to his wife, Robin, and adored his children and grandchildren. He was an “all-around great guy” who was known for loving his family.
He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Robin Mazza; two children, Erin Mazza Stewart and his son-in-law, Tony, of Dublin, and Joey Mazza of Macon; three grandchildren, Dawson Hall, Harley Fox Mazza, and Jaz Raquel Mazza; a brother, James Mazza (Sylvia); sister-in-law, Margaret Mazza; nephew, Jim Mazza; and his precious fur baby, “Tyler,” (a beautiful yorkie mix).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Mazza, Sr., and Gladys Marie Comer; his brother, John Mazza and his sister, Polly Mazza.
