Juanita Davis Borders, on April 13, 2022, became absent from the body and at home with her Lord, higher and happier than at even the greatest heights of this earth. Living to surpass her 100th birthday, she was born in Hawley, Texas to William and Lena Davis on February 4, 1922. She met her husband, George Hill Borders, while he was stationed at Camp Barkeley, Texas. After he returned from the war, they married and moved to Georgia. They were married nineteen years and had four children when her husband passed away in 1964. She is preceded in death by her husband; her sons, John Ellis Borders and William Davis Borders; her parents, and three brothers.
She loved her church family at Avondale Baptist and was faithfully active until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She was employed as a clerk for Houston Ave. Pharmacy and Massey Pharmacy. She enjoyed family, reading, cooking, and sewing.
She is survived by her daughter Darlene Wood (Tom), and her son, James Hill (Cathie); daughter-in-law, Jeanette Borders, all from Macon; and her sister, Jan Jinkins, from Snyder, Texas. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren and a legacy of great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Avondale Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Avondale Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at the church. Reverend Marty Watson and Reverend Brad Blackmon will be officiating.
Special thanks to Homestead Hospice and specially to Yolanda Harris for her loving care and to her church family at Avondale Baptist Church.
