Richard Price, 77, from Macon, Georgia, has passed away on January 20, 2021. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved children and they loved him. The church children affectionately called him “candyman” because he always had a pocketful of candy for them. He coached little league baseball for many years and had such an impact on his young players that many of them still ask about him today.
He loved his job at UPS and retired after 28 years of driving that big brown truck and delivering packages. Then he took an interest in the local hockey team and started going to all the games with his wife and church friends from Lighthouse Baptist Church where he was a founding member and active until his illness.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie; his father, Fenton; his sister, Shirley; and his brother, Hugh.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bonnie; their two sons, Todd (Pam) and Jeff (Teresa); 5 grandchildren, Zack (Lea), Haley, Brian (Kelli), Brandon, and Nick; and 8 great-grandchildren, Ariel, Rylan, Axel, Tyler, Cooper, Kinsley, Kelsey, and Lillian.
