Zelma Palmer Braswell, 99, passed away on Thursday night, November 10th at a local nursing care facility. Zelma was born in Treutlen County, GA, the oldest daughter of the late George W. and Lula Tapley Palmer and one of eight children. Living in Macon most of her life, she retired from the Coliseum Medical Center after decades of service. She was a long-time member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia and the Woodmen of the World. Zelma was preceded in death by her siblings Ovid, Huey, Whit, Robert, Nina, and Ouida and grandson, Jason Miller. She was a devoted mother and grandmother of three generations, and a loving sister and aunt. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Peepsie McLendon, her two sons, Louis Miller and Patrick Braswell; grandchildren Kim Mertens, Danny Miller, Pamela Bowen, and Paula Carr; great grandchildren Matt, Cole, Lauren, Coy, Hunter, Will, Tanner, Ashton, Gracie, Lynsie, Lettie, and Meghan; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, November 14th at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Zelma's spirit was especially strong, and she is now at peace.
